Cryo-sclerotherapy is a new modified sclerotherapy technique using cold air before and during the injections of sclerosing liquid into unsightly veins. The use of cold air for cooling is not new in cosmetic surgery.

The whole procedure is done using a cryo unit that produces a continuous flow of cold air to the sites of application of sclerotherapy injections. The result is the cold air anesthetizes the skin so the treatment is relatively painless. This is especially helpful for treatment of spider veins in sensitive areas like the behind the knees and thighs.

Augmented Reality is performed using a Syris polarizing LED light that serves as a special vein magnifying and scanning optical system. With the help of two-way polarization, the vein doctor can see even the veins underneath the skin are not always visible to the naked eye. Augmented reality helps visualize feeder veins that may otherwise cause spider vein treatment failure.

The augmented reality images veins up to 1.0 centimeter beneath the skin using patented cross polarized technology. The image is then projected back on to the skin in real time. This enables the physician to see the feeder veins that would not be visible without Syris.

Since our technique targets the “unseen” feeder veins,we believe strongly that the improvements after cryo-sclerotherapy with Augmented Reality will endure over time.
