The Vein Specialist Centers of White Plains is our flagship location in Westchester County.  Led by our incredibly talented and highly regarded vein doctor, Claudia Rios, MD, our new location sets a new standard for spider and varicose vein treatment.  Dr. Rios is a board-certified vein specialist and diplomate of the American Board of Vascular and Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM).  Dr. Rios-Datta is a pioneer in cryo-sclerotherapy, which quickly turned spider vein treatments into pain-free, minimally invasive, outpatient procedures in 2000. She enjoys a large following on instagram where she regularly posts on her before and afters and treatment pearls.

Meet Your Vein Doctor in White Plains

Dr. Claudia Rios is a pioneer in cryo-sclerotherapy, which quickly turned spider vein treatments into pain-free, minimally invasive, outpatient procedures in 2000.

She is a member of the American College of Phlebology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM). She received her medical degree from the Universidad Libre De Cali in Columbia and completed her internal medicine residency at Jacobi Medical Center—Albert Einstein School of Medicine.  She subsequently specialized in vascular medicine to treat spider veins and varicose veins.  She previously worked at the Vein Treatment Center in NYC with world-renowned venous expert, Dr. Luis Navarro.  In 2021, after 10 years at the Vein Treatment Center, she joined as a partner at The Vein Specialist Centers. 

Notable accomplishments include a visit in 2019 with the Hackett Hemwall Patterson Foundation on a vein treatment mission trip to Honduras.  In 2023, she has been invited once again to provide varicose vein care to  critically needed areas of the underserved. These experiences have Dr. Rios a deep understanding of the negative effects of venous disease impacting the everyday life of patients.  We are incredibly humbled to have Dr. Rios as a physician partner at VSC. 

Dr. Rios provides her incredible experience to our vein clinics in Manhattan and now most recently White Plains. 

Who Should Get Screened For Vein Disease?

Anyone can benefit from a vein screening as a part of their preventative medicine routine.  We encourage self-referrals and physician referrals to our vein screening program.  There are several factors increase your risk for venous disease and will benefit most from a screening:

• Painful or swollen legs are indicators that there may be an underlying vein issue.
• Age. While older people are at a higher risk for venous disease, it can begin to show much earlier. Adults over 45 are at greatest risk.
• Heredity is the number one risk factor for venous disease. If even one parent had vein disease, there is a 50 percent risk for inheriting the condition.
• Women, especially those that have had multiple pregnancies, are three times more likely than men to develop venous disorders.
• Professions that require long periods of sitting or standing increase one’s risk.
